Spiced Heritage Carrots and
​Tamarind Glazed Red Onions

These are two side dishes that are the perfect accompaniment for Roni’s Chicken Relleno.

Ingredients
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp RoniB’s Kitchen Tamarind Jam 
  • 1 red whole onion, peeled
  • 5 tbsp RoniB’s Kitchen Tamarind Jam

Procedure: 

Spiced Heritage Carrot
  1. Mix garam masala and tamarind jam in a small bowl. 
  2. Thoroughly clean the heritage carrots. 
  3. Create a pouch suing aluminum foil and place the carrot in the center. Drizzle the Tamarind Jam mixture over the carrots. 
  4. Cover and seal the pouch. 
  5. Bake at 180°C for 20-30 minutes, until the carrots are soft. 

Tamarind Glazed Red Onion
  1. Create another pouch from aluminum foil. 
  2. Peel the onion and poke with a toothpick or fork to create an outlet for the steam . 
  3. Place the peeled onion in the center of the pouch and drizzle the tamarind jam over it. 
  4. Seal the punch and bake int he oven for 180°C for 40-45 minutes
