The Filipino Food Movement Hosts a Free Online Summit for Food Entrepreneurs
Leading conversations on community innovation in the time of COVID-19
12 June 2020 (California, USA) — The Filipino Food Movement, a nonprofit devoted to promoting Filipino cuisine and its purveyors around the world, is hosting the first Savor Filipino Summit via Zoom on Monday, June 29, 2020, from 2-5pm Pacific. The free online event will bring together some of the most prominent members of the Filipino food business community in the United States to discuss the economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and develop actionable solutions that will keep the industry competitive in a post-COVID-19 marketplace.
The summit will feature a keynote speech by award-winning New York Times food writer Ligaya Mishan alongside restaurateur and cookbook author Nicole Ponseca. This will be followed by five concurrent breakout sessions on topics that are key to the current environment. Panelists include Filipinx chefs and restaurateurs, technology trailblazers, and industry experts. The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Department of Tourism will be present to help connect Filipino food producers and manufacturers with end-users across America. In these community-led conversations, the discussion and brainstorm will focus on new business models, useful tech platforms, funding sources, and a design to re-imagine how to powerfully thrive and move forward.
Interested parties, including restaurant owners, food product manufacturers, financial partners and others, may register for the event at the following link www.filipinofoodmovement.org. Limited spots are available.
