About Chef Miggy and Chef Leevan
Along with much of the world’s population during 2020, we realized that video calls can help us stay connected even when we can’t meet together in person. However, the question that quickly arose was… "How do we spend quality time together despite being scattered across different cities and states?" Because, you know, staring at each other through a screen can feel a little less fun and even awkward at times. As chefs, our instincts led us to what we do best: food. Chefs Leevan and Miggy decided to venture out and start Virtual Table, a way to bring people together through food and cooking. With experience from different fine dining restaurants like Liholiho, Aziza, Nomica, Pinoy Heritage (now Abacá), chefs Leevan and Miggy aim to make cooking approachable, fun & interactive.
Growing up in the SF Bay Area with his mother’s Chinese heritage, along with his father’s Filipino roots, Leevan's upbringing resulted in a tasty childhood. On the other hand, Miggy grew up in the Philippines with frequent trips to Pangasinan where his grandparents lived. Later moving to the US and attending Stanford University, Miggy worked for 7+ years in the corporate tech industry before transitioning into the restaurant industry. Both Miggy and Leevan love sharing their culture and upbringing through their flavor-packed Virtual Table menus!
